The typical education track for a urologist is 4 years of medical school, 1 or 2 years of general surgery training, and 3 or 4 years of residency in urology. Also, the muscles in your ureters, bladder, and urethra tend to lose some of their strength. You may have more urinary infections because the bladder muscles do not tighten enough to empty your bladder completely. A decrease in strength of muscles of the sphincters and the pelvis can also cause incontinence, the unwanted leakage of urine. Urodynamics (bladder function test) and imaging studies may be required to fully evaluate the urinary tracts. Additional bladder studies such as cystoscopy may be necessary. Cancer can develop in any organ of the urinary system and the male reproductive system. As with other forms of cancer, the earlier a urological cancer is detected, the greater the chance of successful treatment, that is, removing it before it becomes aggressive and spreads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Not all abnormal masses of cells are cancerous.
