Fire Pits: Bring the Heat!

Our idea of what a backyard should or could be is evolving. Once it was thought of as the playground for the kids, but more and more the backyard must be a family-friendly, yet adult entertainment area. For that reason, our designers bring adult style and comfort to the outdoor spaces we create. One of the hottest trends in outdoor living continues to be fire pits. Our clients are adding both wood burning and gas-fueled fire pits to their outdoor spaces. And it is easy to understand why. Michigan summers are never quite long enough, are they? Fall brings crisp, cool weather that needs a little heat to extend the outdoor living season. Fire pits can cozy-up a patio in no time.

And in any weather, gazing into a fire can take you away from the daily stresses of life.

When a Bloomfield Hills family described what they were looking for, they had real concerns about making it happen. There were drainage issues and space concerns. They wanted to be able to have a gathering space and an eating space and needed additional seating for larger parties. Where would they find the room? Our designer was able to check all their boxes and create a beautiful contemporary outdoor space filled with warmth and modern style. Our design drops the eating area into a sunken patio surrounded by a low wall instantly creating the additional seating for larger groups without losing the intimacy around the table. A new patio just off the doorway is a lounge area, just perfect for any size gathering and is completed by a gas-fueled fire table.
