Rock Out the Lockout? Don’t mind if we do!

Not going to lie, we’ve been going through withdrawal. We’re a hockey family, well, a hockey agency, and this lockout has been really taking its toll on us. We miss our Wings, we miss the Joe, we miss it all! So when we were approached to help raise awareness for an upcoming NHLPA pickup game we didn’t just say “yes” — it was more like a “OH-HELLS-YEA!”

In just three days, Red Wings players and other huge names from the league will take the ice in a charity pickup game benefiting Sparkles From Above. The organization supports families with children battling cancer. A great cause, and sure to be a great game — but the ticket sales were not what they should be, that is until The Arkin Agency stepped in to help last week.

The first step was a website with a straightforward URL. We suspected a lot of the problem was that the link to buy tickets was hidden deep in another company’s website. Allowing fans to go straight to the source for info and ticket purchasing was priority. We went into overdrive and wrote, designed and developed rockoutthelockout.com in just few a hours.

Shortly after the site went live, ticket sales started improving. And once our pal Dan Cleary got on the radio with our other pal Mojo from Channel 955’s Mojo in the Morning Show (hey, we’ve got some impressive pals), it was on! Ticket sales spiked, #RockOutTheLockout starting trending on Twitter and fans knew their hockey fix was around the corner.

But that’s not the end of the story, oh no. If you know anything about The Arkin Agency, you know that we can’t resist an opportunity to make wearables. Take a look at our fan gear, which will be available at Saturday’s game.

While we all hope the NHL lockout is resolved with the quickness so we can get to our regularly scheduled season, we are incredibly happy to play a role in this much needed game that will benefit a very worthy cause.
